Poetry: The Raw Human

The raw human figure

Is paramount art,

In the nude, the light falls on a fleeting masterpiece.

Apart from sexuality, can you view, the raw body? Portraying it like a fine work of Davinci?

The body is an expression of life,

It is a sculpture not to be bound in shadows,

Yet admired, on a pedestal for artisans to paint,

Philosophers to ponder

Architects to study the fine design of the curves, shapes and shadows.

Captured in time until the next phase of life.

The light drapes over the naked body,

Of all sizes, rolling forms like mountains,

Of all ages, wrinkles, and lines.

Of all colors, vulnerable, and so beautiful,

The raw human figure

Is paramount art.

Raw Human

Raw Human is a book I've been working on for years! I don't know quite when I'll be done with it, but it's been a good project for the soul.
