I was Planted here Naked
I was planted here naked, bare soul and body.
A cell of expression
Prospering blossom
Reveling flowers of all frames and sizes
We may germinate in darkness
But we do not thrive in shadows and shame
We rise in the light
And though they try to rip us out
And push us back into the ground
Our roots bridge and grow sturdy
I was planted right here
Just the way I’m supposed to be
Unjudged and ordinary as an open heart
I am nature
So are my stretch marks and scars
We trace our birthmarks to the stars
I was planted here naked, bare soul and body.
